Pierre Desrochers is a federal public servant executive. He provides leadership on programs, projects, services, and administrative policies in information and data. Prior to this position, he held various positions and functions within Privy Council Office (PCO), Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Library and Archives Canada (LAC). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Montreal in applied human sciences within the interdisciplinary fields of library and information science, documentary heritage and public administration. He is also a frequent lecturer at the École Nationale d’Administration Publique and an adjuct professor at the University of Ottawa in the School of Information Studies. He was appointed in 2019 a Canada School of Public Service Digital Fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. He teaches information resource management, organizational knowledge management and information governance in the digital age. He works on the issues of theories and practices in information resource management in enterprise information systems, as well as their impacts on public and administrative policies within the Canadian federal public service. Dr. Desrochers has published in the field of artificial intelligence on the opportunities and risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the use of administrative data.
